So you need rules to know how to behave? No worries, we got you covered!

Last updated 08/11/2023

  1. Don’t be an *hole. Respect your fellow collectors.
Please read the #knowledge posts. You can find them in the tab 'topics'. Seriously, we put a lot of effort in writing those posts. Especially for you! (Yes, that’s a Jason Donovan and Kylie Minogue reference)

  2. Don’t sell repro.
Just don’t. For all we care you may take ‘em to bed with you and play around a bit with them. But just don’t sell ‘em. If you try to pass it off knowingly as original you will be removed from the group.

But let's face it, it's not always easy to distinguish repro from original anymore either. And everyone makes mistakes. Have you unwittingly sold repro and the buyer makes you aware of it? Then just refund the amount or send an original item after. No need for drama lama’s.
Also, it’s REPRO, not REPO. FFS.

  3. No promotions or spam
Give more to this group than you take. Self-promotion, spam and irrelevant links aren't allowed. We may allow certain links if you ask nicely. Giving compliments and bribing admins may help. Maybe. We can’t make promises.

  4. About PM deals
Fine, there’s no stopping it. Who are we to say who you can send a message to. But please don't come whining or ask for advice afterwards if a PM deal goes wrong.

  5. Respect vintage
Don't open vintage cards. Don't cut vintage cards. We can't believe we had to make this a rule. Yes, it is your property. And yes, you can do what you want with your own stuff. But that doesn't mean you can offer them in this group.

  6. Do not use the Deal/no deal format if you know what your asking price is. We wrote a nice post around this topic, please take a minute to read it. When you say 'almost there' you imply that you know what price you want for your item. Then just make it a sales post.

  7. If you use the Deal/no deal format and do not reply within a reasonable amount of time (let’s say an hour), the administrators will close the comments. If you get an offer it is polite to respond.

  8. Don’t crosspost when you use the Deal/no deal format.

  9. When selling an item, make a clear description of your items.
Don’t know how? Have a look at other previous sales posts. Can’t figure it out? Ask an administrator for help.

  10. If you are selling on multiple groups at once, please ad ‘crossposted’ to your post. It sometimes avoids major disappointments.

  11. Toy Tonis are welcome if you clearly state it in your sales post. No idea what Toy Toni stands for? No worries, but you might want to Google that and do yourself a favor.

  12. No rafles. Naah…

  13. Don’t block an admin. Why would you even do that? Block an admin and you are out. Pretty straightforward. Ciao Ciao! We still love you, but not here. Maybe in a bar, under the sea.

  14. No politics please. Please use X (Twitter) if you feel the need to talk trash. You will find a lot of friends over there!

  15. It’s about vintage toys. 1977 — 1985 that is. A lovely era. The most beautiful people were born in that era. In doubt if an item is vintage? Ask an admin. They are friendly (and beautiful) people!
Some examples: No POTF2, no Retro collection, no Vintage collection, no Funko pops, … heck… No ‘modern’.

  16. Don’t shill bid.
Don’t make us Liam Neeson your ass, cause we will. More info on shill bidding here

  17. No autographs please. We’re sorry, we just don’t know how to authenticate them. Pretty sure there are groups dedicated for this.

  18. Feel like making negative comments on someone's post?
Swallow it and scroll on. Failing that, again we can recommend X (Twitter) where everyone has the same opinion and agrees with each other. A fine place there, also known as 'the echo of society'.

  19. Someone asks a question on your sales post and you don't feel like answering it?
Then we can recommend Facebook Marketplace. There, it is normal not to get an answer when you ask a question. We are here to help each other and sit on a rainbow together with flowers in our hair while singing how beautiful the world is. Some have been collecting since the 1990s', others have just started. Try to understand that and help each other.

  20. Feel like publicly lecturing someone?
Don't, or we'll call your mother! We are all adults and it's about toys. Toys, that is. That's actually meant for children, that doesn't mean you have to behave that way. Always try to settle any issue amongst yourselves, if that doesn't work just contact an administrator.
Want to get removed instantly? > Lecture an admin.
Yep, instantly. No warning, no goodbye.

  21. Each to his own.
One collects beaters, the other (U-)graded items. Everyone collects what they want and how they want it. Whether you collect variants, mocs, baggies, or manuals, it's all Vintage Star Wars. Believe it or not, there are even people who collect Japanese stuff. We'd love to hear what you do collect, rather than what you don't want to collect.

  22. Learn to take a hit.
Don't take things too seriously, it's just plastic toys. There will sometimes be a comment that is funnier for some than others. One is a fan of Ricky Gervais, the other of Jimmy Carr. People differ in that, thankfully. We can't all think Ewoks are cute bears can we?

  23. Price bashing.
Yaaaa, it's inevitable. The urge to comment on the asking price of an item. If you really think the seller has made a wrong reasoning somewhere, send him a message. You can also do that 'in public', but who will that help? Does someone not take your tips? Let it go. You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink 🐴. Tomorrow you will wake up and the world will still be the same.

  24. Valuations.
You have no idea what your item is worth and would like to ask the members of the group for help? Sure, but please try to do some research yourself first. If you still can't figure it out, send a message to an administrator to double check. After you got help, sell it in the group. If you sell it on a different platform you just wanted help and then chose to sell it somewhere else. Which is, very uncool of you.

  25. Don’t delete posts.
Posts are supposed to stay on the group for a reason. For instance, if you want to find a certain description or looking for a price indication of an item. So please, don’t delete your posts.

  26. Paying for your purchases.
Using Friends & Family on Paypal is at your own risk. We advise you to use ‘Goods & Services’ on Paypal. This protects both the seller and the buyer. Any other payment method leaves you open to scammers. Don’t say we didn’t warn you!

  27. A picture with your name and date is not necessary.
However, if you are new to the group we can still ask you the question though.

  28. No bleaching or using peroxide.
At least, not to improve the conditions of vintage toys. If you want to bleach your own body parts, please, by all means, don’t tell us!

  29. U-grades.
They are around, and they are not going to magically disappear. So, it’s okay to sell them on the group if you clearly state it in your sales post.

  30. Artwork
Art is appreciated, but it should feature a vintage figurine or toy.

  31. Fishing posts
"I'll list this for sale later on," or "Would anyone consider buying this if I were to sell it?" Those are considered fishing posts. It will only encourage pm dealing and so you can be scammed. Consequently you are going to want to complain. And then we refer again to rule nr. 4

  32. Don’t be lazy
If you want to sell a large lot, at least take good photos of each item and make sure you have a list. A picture of a box showing only a few items will not help anyone. Don't have the time and inclination to bother with that? No problem, sell it somewhere else.

  33. Yes, we talk to other group administrators.
In fact, we meet monthly at secret locations around the world. We dress up in black anonymous robes and wear Venetian masks. Think 'Eyes wide shut', but without the orgies. There we decide who to ban from groups worldwide. Even Mark Zuckerberg himself is present.

  34. Shipping your stuff.
Please please please protect your stuff when shipping. We have some really good tips about this in the #knowledge posts.
As a buyer: ask the seller to package well. Do not assume that everyone knows how best to send a moc.

  35. Selling items takes time (and patience).
Selling is often a lot more work than you estimate in advance.
👉 You will have to take good photos
👉 You will have to describe the item correctly and completely,
👉 Do research on the correct price
👉 Take into account shipping and different rates.
So quickly taking some pictures in the dark with your flash on, and making a sales post with no description will not really help your attempt to sell something.
Anyone who has ever tried to sell something in our hobby knows that you will have to exercise a bit more patience than when you buy something. Your item will sometimes be for sale for weeks, no matter how many times you 'bump' it seems like everyone has suddenly stopped collecting. Of course that's not true, you just can't expect it to go as fast as buying.

  36. Reseals are welcome if you clearly state it in your sales post.

  37. No profile pic = No entrance.

  38. Not accepting group rules when applying for membership = No entrance.

  39. Administrators put much of their free time into maintaining this group. If you do not agree with the rules, you are free to leave. If you feel the need to lecture an administrator you will be removed instantly.
